Greetings, Friendlies. :)
I notice I’ve started using the word “Fabricating”, which I inherited from Rob Burbea. I think (though I’m not certain) he’s talking about the fact of our minds fabricating/constructing experience, from the grossest levels of full-blown papanca all the way down to the subtlest levels of subconscious conceptualizing. And I think this ties in with what we said back in Part 7.3, about Saṅkhāra as “Principle of Construction”.
John Peacock does talk about Saṅkhāra-ing. But he also uses Saṅkhāra as a noun. Particularly when talking about habits.
I’m not in love with “Fabricating”, but as Sharon and I discussed, it’s not about whether I like a word. It’s about communicating with others.
I’d prefer “Saṅkhāra-ing”. Or even “Constructing”. But I’m waffling. You’ll probably see something like Saṅkhāra-ing/Fabrication until I figure out what I want to say.
Thanks for your good humor. :)
And I’m terribly eager to hear your thoughts, particularly if you have worked with Burbea or his Seeing That Frees and have thoughts on his use of “Fabrication”.
With friendliness!
