Consolatory Physics

Recently in conversation with a dhamma friend, they asked why I am so grumbly about consolatory metaphysics.

Serendipitously, Alan de Botton landed in my feed; it’s not an answer to the question but maybe a seed crystal for the conversation?

Shannon, that was an entertaining 10 minutes! Like the introduction to the Big Bang tv series. Also, it reminds me of the Carl Sagan quote . . . If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the Universe.
PS – In my next life (ha!ha!) I’m going to study philosophy so I’ll understand terms like “consolatory metaphysics.” I am such a Muggle!
