Greetings, Friendlies!
Buddha-Stiftung, a Secular Buddhist organization in Germany, will be hosting two online events with Stephen Batchelor on the topic of Human Flourishing. From their email:
1. Solitude and human flourishing [One Evening]
June 14 th, 18:30-20:00 CET, free
On the initiative of the German MBSR-Association.
During this evening together we will explore how the solitary practice of mindfulness can nurture our flourishing as individuals embedded in human society and the natural world. Drawing upon a secular reading of early Buddhist texts, we will seek to reconfigure the dharma of the Buddha in a way that addresses the issues of our time. The evening will include talks, discussions and short periods of mindfulness practice. All are welcome.
Registration for everybody:
2. Mindfulness Based Human Flourishing (MBHF): The Ethics and Philosophy of Mindful Living” [Four Saturdays]
will be introduced in this series of four workshops.
We will explore the role of mindfulness practice as a key to flourishing in every aspect of human life. We will seek to provide a comprehensive ethical, contemplative and philosophical framework for mindfulness, based on Stephen’s secular interpretation of the Buddhist foundation of mindfulness.
4 Saturdays in October from 8.10.22, 15-18:00.
